Natalia Karolak defends her PhD thesis

Natalia Karolak defended her PhD thesis on June 21st - Natalia's work gathered excellent reviews and was highly prized by the examination committee.

Natalia won a PhD studentship in the interdisciplinary TriBioChem programme combining Biology and Chemistry. Her thesis "Studies of the structure and function of human antiviral IFIT protein complexes" combined studies in human cell culture and using purified proteins and RNA. Currently, Natalia is finalizing a manuscript describing the main findings from her work.

Natalia co-authored 4 publications (including two in Nucleic Acids Research) and a patent application on the biotechnological application of IFITs.
