Independent funding for incoming researchers

We welcome applications for external funding with our laboratory as the host for incoming researchers. We invite independently funded applicants to develop a synergistic research programme in any area overlapping with our interests: structural biology, RNA metabolism, innate immunity, bacterial PROTACs. We have experience hosting independent research fellows.

The National Academic Exchange Agency (NAWA) has a variety of programmes from students to senior researchers.

And don't forget MSCA Postdocs programme (the call closes annually around mid-September) and EMBO Fellowship (applications accepted all year).

Prospective PhD students can obtain 4-year funding by applying to the University of Warsaw Doctoral School - if you intend to do so, please let us know in advance so we can register a project on time (for example, to start PhD studies from October 2023, you need to enter the application call by mid-May 2023).

EMBO Solidarity Grants

EMBO has launched the EMBO Solidarity Grants to support scientists who have been displaced by recent armed conflicts, such as the war on Ukraine. The EMBO Solidarity Grants provide one-year stipends for researchers to start, continue or finish their PhD thesis, for post-doctoral researchers and for research stays by scientists at the professorial and group leader level. The work has to be carried out in EMBC Member States with Increasing Participation Status (Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, and Turkey)

The grant is intended to cover the cost of living in the host country. The EMBO Solidarity Grant does not cover bench fees, overheads, funds for consumables or any other financial benefits to the supervisor or the receiving institute. The stipend rate depends on the country being visited and the entry-level.

Further information is available on EMBO web site. The deadline for applications is 15 February 2023.
