Lab shutdown during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic
Mar 16, 2020We regret to inform that our laboratory had to suspend all research activities, except for computer-based work that can be done remotely. This is done in accordance with our current national and university recommendations and will last until further notice.
In addition, the upcoming Erasmus internship by Hayat Bellahcene was cancelled and our newest team member, Clara Delaunay, returned back to France in anticipation of the closure of the Polish borders. DAAD RISE Worldwide cancelled also the internship of Enerel Ariunbold from TU Berlin. We foresee that the restriction of international mobility will continue and may affect other internships in our laboratory this summer.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by these necessary measures, ordained by the authorities.
These developments interfered also with two international conferences, co-organized by Maria Górna: The EMBO Young Scientist Forum (scheduled originally in June 2020 in Lublin) and 7th MCAA Annual Conference (which was to take place in March 2020 in Zagreb). The EYSF2020 organising committee and MCAA Board decided to postpone their respective events to either Autumn 2020 or Spring 2021.
Please contact us via email if you need to reach us.
UPDATES:
In the late May 2020 we resumed a limited operation of our lab, with restrictions on the occupancy of lab and office rooms, in addition to enforcing PPE and desinfectant use.
Hayet completed her internship by working remotely, while Enerel joined us later in the summer supported by a different DAAD exchange program (DAAD BARI).
MCAA 7th Annual Conference took place online on 6-7 November as the MCAA 1st Virtual Conference.
