Jan 28, 2020

The University of Warsaw Technology Transfer Office organized the IV Competition for diploma thesis (PhD, MSc and BSc) with the highest commercialization potential. This year, a record number of applications made it the toughest competition yet.

Matylda Izert won the main prize and a monetary award for her Bachelor thesis "Characterization of RNA binding by IFIT5 for development of biotechnological applications" which she completed in our lab under the supervision of Dr. Maria Górna. Today, she presented her work at the award gala ceremony celebrating the laureates.

Matylda's work contributed substantially to our patent application P.430151 "Sposób selekcji i/lub wzbogacania RNA, cząsteczka RNA oraz jej zastosowanie" (A method of RNA selection and/or enrichment, a RNA molecule and use thereof). This invention was developed in the LIDER project funded by the National Centre for Research and Development, Poland.

Congratulations to Matylda for her excellent work!
