Talks and posters!
Jul 5, 2026From late May to early July, we enjoyed several very productive scientific and networking events:
- Maria Górna participated in the discussion panel "Talent circulation, capacity building, research bridges: closing gaps with MSCA portfolio" at the "MSCA at 30: Research mobility & bridging gaps across Europe" conference, 21 May 2026, Brussels, Belgium (PolSCA report|Maria's LinkedIn)
- Kuba participated with a poster "Mechanisms of RNA recognition by IFIT2-IFIT3 heterodimer in immune responses" at the EMBO Workshop Pathogen Immunity and Signalling, 8-12 June 2026, Leiden, The Netherlands
Dawid, Kuba and Maria presented posters at the RNA Decay 24-26 June 2026, Berlin, Germany:
- Dawid Dzadz "Structure-function studies of the mRNA decapping enzyme of Trypanosoma brucei"
- Maria Górna "ApaH-like phosphatase ALPH1, the unusual decapping enzyme of Trypanosoma brucei"
- Jakub Kowalski "Mechanisms of RNA recognition by the IFIT2/3 heterodimer in immune responses"
Maria also chaired the conference session on viral and antiviral molecular mechanisms.
The WEAVE consortium was also represented by the Kramer lab with posters and a flash talk:
- Alexia Amaral "Regulation of the Trypanosoma mRNA decapping enzyme ALPH1 in vivo"
- Susanne Kramer "The trypanosome mRNA decapping enzyme ALPH1 prefers caps without m7G methylation and produces diphosphate-RNA"
Together with Bandyra lab members we happily reconnected with our mentor Ben Luisi from the University of Cambridge.
Maria Górna also gave a talk "Exploring and exploiting the RNA binding properties of human antiviral IFIT proteins" at the 10th Central European Congress of Life Sciences Eurobiotech, 2-3 July 2026, Kraków, PolandOn the photos:
