Susanne Kramer and Martin Zoltner visit our lab

Dec 6, 2021

We cordially invite you to the following event:

Tuesday December 7th 2021, 10:00-11:15 am, Aula B, CNBCh UW, Żwirki i Wigury 101, Warszawa

Mini-symposium on mRNA decapping, RNA biology and drug discovery in trypanosomes
Host: Dr Maria Górna, University of Warsaw

  • Prof. Susanne Kramer, University of Würzburg, Germany

Life beyond Opisthokonts: Visualising the non-conventional RNA biology of trypanosomes

  • Dr Martin Zoltner, BIOCEV, Charles University and IOCB Prague CAS, Czech Republic

The ApaH like phosphatase ALPH1 - a near perfect target for trypanosomatid infectious disease drug discovery

Prof. Susanne Kramer holds Heisenberg Professorship at the Department of Zoology I of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg. She is a molecular biologist studying spatial aspects of mRNA metabolism and posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression. She will talk about atypical RNA processing and trafficking in trypanosomes.

Dr Martin Zoltner is the Chair in Medicinal Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. He is an expert in drug discovery with a particular interest in antiparasitic drugs. He will introduce his laboratory and research on tripanocidal drug development.
