Young Chemist University 1st Conference

Aug 31, 2018

The 1st edition of the Young Chemist University (Uniwersytet Młodego Chemika) ended with a celebratory event. Over the course of the last semester or in the summer of 2018, 134 young talents from Warsaw high-school participated in 48 research projects at our Department of Chemistry. During the 1st UMC conference held at the Centre of New Technologies on August 30-31, selected 20 students had a chance to present a talk or a poster to share the results of their projects. The conference included plenary lectures, talk and poster sessions, and lab tours of the Biological and Chemical Research Centre and the Centre of New Technologies.

Aleksandra Suchołbiak and Weronika Piotrowska from VII Słowacki Lyceum presented a talk and a poster (photo below) regarding project #32 "Optimization of expression and crystallization trials of RNA-binding proteins" (coordinators: Marlena Kisiała, Jan Kutner, Maria Górna).

Jakub Magdziak from XIV Staszic Lyceum prepared a poster for project #13 "Fight against cancer through targeting of USP1 protein" (coordinator Marcin Ziemniak)

Congratulations to our young researchers and good luck in all future scientific endevours!
