NCN POLS grant to Katarzyna Bandyra

Dec 16, 2020

Dr Katarzyna Bandyra from the University of Cambridge received a 2-year mobility grant POLS to join our laboratory. POLS is part of the Basic Research Programme operated by the National Science Centre, Poland, under the EEA and Norway Grants and in cooperation with the Research Council of Norway. The call results show that POLS attracted internationally recognized young and experienced researchers to encourage their move to Poland. 8 grants were awarded in Life Sciences (NZ).

The award of EUR 200 000 will support Katarzyna (Kasia) in structural and functional studies of human PNPase in the intermembrane space of mitochondria. Kasia will also share with us her valuable expertise in cryoelectron microscopy.

Congratulations to Kasia, we are delighted to have you on board! We are very much looking forward to hosting Kasia and her POLS project in our laboratory.

See the POLS project page for more news.
