Kasia's research towards the habilitation thesis aims at understanding of the role of a human enzyme, PNPase, in the mitochodnrial RNA metabolism. Her research might find a way of importing RNA into mitochondria, which would enable RNA-based or RNA-guided therapies to be applied also to mitochondrial diseases and interventions.
