EMBO Young Scientists' Forum 2021 in Warsaw
Oct 25, 2021
The EMBO Young Scientists’ Forum (EYSF) aims to provide a chance for aspiring scientists (PhD students, post-docs) to meet and exchange ideas with research leaders in life sciences, share their findings and network with their peers from other countries. The 12th EYSF, organized by EMBO Installation Grantees Maria Górna, Agata Starosta and Anna Karnkowska, took place on 21-22 October 2021 at the University of Warsaw Biological and Chemical Research Centre. The two-day programme included invited and selected talks on a variety of molecular biology-related topics, such as microbiology, genomics, structural biology and evolutionary biology, two poster sessions, and a choice of social events. The conference was hybrid, with ~130 participants on-site and ~60 online.
Our group presented a selected short talk by Matylda Izert, posters by Anna Antosiewicz, Natalia Karolak, Daria Dawidziak and Kasia Bandyra. Maria Górna led two discussion panels, on alternative career paths and on well-being and inclusivity.
We congratulate Kasia Bandyra for winning an award for the Best Poster! Well done Kasia!
We are grateful for support to EMBO, University of Warsaw Biological and Chemical Research Centre and the Faculties of Chemistry and Biology, the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and L'Oreal Poland.
We hoped you enjoyed EYSF2021 as much as we did!
