2025 Nobel Week at the University of Warsaw

Oct 8, 2025

The Centre for Cooperation and Dialogue (CWiD) of the University of Warsaw organized the annual Nobel Week celebrations. Maria Górna was among the experts from the Department of Chemistry invited to comment on the live transmission of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry award ceremony.

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2025 was awarded jointly to Susumu Kitagawa (Kyoto University, Japan), Richard Robson (University of Melbourne, Australia), Omar M. Yaghi (University of California, Berkeley, USA) “for the development of metal–organic frameworks”.

Maria's commentary on the MOF nanostructures was cited by Gazeta Wyborcza (also video on Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok), Sprawy Nauki, Polskie Radio 24, Dziennik Naukowy, and other media outlets covering this year's Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Maria gave also a brief interview for the major TV news program Fakty TVN.

A video commentary and photos from Day 3 of the Nobel Week are available on CWiD pages, and a "behind-the scenes" video on Facebook.
